    Monitoring excel files for data.

I have a process that generates a excel file each day and I want to monitor that file for specific text and alert on if the text is found.  I have had not success using log monitor feature in MOM.  Has anyone know how I can monitor a file (not log file) with MOM?

In Mom there is no rule or something to monitor or read for a word from a file. This can be acheived only through using the scripts manually.

let me know if the size of the file increases everyday or will it be of same size? Is the process you specified will append the data to your existing file or creates new every time?

If it appends then you need to write a script to search for a text that you want to monitor in the file and put the value in the mom stream to generate an alert or an event.

    Thanks,

One easy way would be to write a script that checks the file, and writes weather the indicated text was in the file or not to the event log. then have mom look for that event in the event log.

    Just an idea.
